Default Hosta, Potting New TC Liners

This is a regular tray designed for 4" pots with a plastic
garbage bag that doesn't allow the tray to drain.
Now we have a constant water reservoir.

You will note the new growth after only a couple of weeks.

Thumbs up Re: Hosta, Potting New TC Liners

Looks great Butch! I planted mine out to a nursery bed amended with compost. I think yours have more new growth than mine do. I think my bed may dry out a bit too quickly.

I can't prove this but I think the water is more important for the 2nd flush than the spring flush. I think I get an extra flush on many hosta in these constant water pots.

Judging by your pictures and the constant water source I would have to agree. My plants have been in the ground since the end of June and don't have nearly the amount of leaves as yours with the second flush they've gotten. I have noticed that with the deep rain we've been getting that there are more leaves developing on them. I think I may add a soaker hose through there to make sure they are getting a deeper watering from here on. Thanks!

The type of bags doesn't matter, the only purpose is to hold water and any method is ok.

With hosta it is always water, nutrients matter but only if you have a lot of water. Without the water the hosta can't even take up the NPK Somewhere I explain my "Peterlizer" method of home made fertilizer.

Remember in pots or the soil Water is the question!
