Welcome to BloomingtonOnline.NET Discussions.

The purpose of BloomingtonOnline.NET is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information, and to provide the means for groups to focus and promote their actvities. We hope to hear your thoughts and opinions about the topics and activities here in the site.

Many topics are discussed here, and in a wide range of perspectives. This is one of the primary benefits, which is to hear from a wide range of opinions - not just the ones we agree with. Hopefully this will at times give you new ways of looking at things, and new ways to approach problems. The main thing to keep in mind is respect and civility.

There are three main areas of the forum, each with a slightly different purpose:

Part 1: Group Collaboration
This are discussions centered around the actvities of pre-existing groups, looking for an effective way to keep their membership informed of current activites and concerns. We are happy to set up your group for this area.. The benefits include:

• Keeping discussions in a central location for the reference of all members.
• Providing a daily or weekly email digest of all new topics, with links to each.
• Making the actvities of their group accessible for the general public, who may wish to become involved with the group's efforts.

Part 2: Focused Topics
This is an area centered around a topic or interest, usually moderated by an expert in the subject matter, for people to compare notes, ask questions, and to provide answers and alternative ways to improve understanding and application of the topics. The topics can be fun or serious, and are a way for people to learn more about thier chosen topic. We are happy to create an area for you to try this out with your own area of interest.

Part 3: General Discussions
This area changes daily, with a place for you to make community announcements, comment on current events, ask questions about Bloomington in general, etc. These topics can run the range of funny encounters to serious concerns.
