I was a member of BNI when my husband and I owned and operated an automotive repair shop--what a blessing BNI was to that business! We gegan to receive referrals almost immediately and received referrals in excess of $250,000 that we knew came primarily from second tier referrals. when we sold that business and I secured my real estate license, there was no doubt that I wanted to re-join BNI. When the real estate position opened up, I immediately submitted my application and was thrilled to be accepted for membership.
Of course, it takes a bit longer to convert referrals for real estate into sales. I just completed my 10th month as the residential real estate member of the Hoosier Success chapter in Bloomington, IN, and have closed $477,500 in business, approximately 1/4 of that was first tier, with the 3/4 as second tier referrals. In addition, I have $164,500 in pending business that should close by the end of July.
Another tremendous benefit I enjoy is that I have access to other professionals that I can recomend without hesitiation to my clients--which makes me more valuable. I routinely receive calls and thank yous from clients that want to know who they should call for services for their homes.
